Stop child separation is a digital resource hub to learn, share and participate in the initiative of promoting and protecting children rights to parental care. It is a joint initiative of Children-Women in Social Service and Human Rights (CWISH) and Kadambari Memorial College (KMC), School of Social Work.
UNGA 2019 once again emphasizes the importance of growing up in a family environment. It opposes the unnecessary separation of children from their families and the unlawful or arbitrary deprivation of liberty of children. It encourages states and civil society actors to reunify families where it is in the best interests of the child and stresses that children should never be separated from their families solely due to poverty or lack of access to services such as health or education. It appeals to actors to develop local preventive services which support families so they can keep their children.
